Egyptian AI startup Widebot has secured $3 million in pre-Series A funding to advance its development of an Arabic large language model (LLM), known as AQL Mind.
Widebot’s AI Vision: Enhancing Arabic-Language AI
Originally founded in Cairo and now headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Widebot is focusing on building a generative AI model that understands various Arabic dialects and accents.
According to Mohammed Nabil, CEO and co-founder of Widebot:
“AQL Mind will enable us to provide accurate, secure, and personalized AI experiences for Saudi government entities and businesses.”

The funding round was led by Keheilan Asset Management II, backed by Saudi investment firm Wafra. Other investors include:
